MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING held on July 31, 1956, for the purpose of canvassing the votes of the special election for Monticello Cemetery Maintenance District.

Meeting opened ,in due form with all Commissioners and Clerk ,present.

A canvass of the votes in the special election was made with 295 in favor and 17 against the organization of Monticello Cemetery Main-tenance District.

ORDER DECLARING MONTICELLO CEMETERY MAINTENANCE DISTRICT BE IT RESOLVED:

That more than half of the qualified voters in said Monticello Cemetery Maintenance District having voted in favor of its organ-ization, it is hereby ordered by the Board of County Commissioners of San Juan County, State of Utah, that such territory is duly or-ganized and shall be called Monticello Cemetery Maintenance Dis-trict, which is the name designated in the petition and its boun-daries shall be as follows:

All of Township 34 South, Range 23 East; Township 33 South, Range 23 East; Township 32 South, Range 23 East; Township 34 South, Range 24 East; Township 33 South, Range 24 East; Town- ship 32 South, Range.24- East; and Sections 1 to 12 inclusive of Township 35 South, Range 23 East and Range 24 East; Sections 5,6,7,8,17,18,19,20,29,30,31, and 32 of Townships 32 South, 33 South, and 34 South of Range 25 East.

The above parcels of land being further described as being located in and around the Town of Monticello, San Juan County, Utah.

A map showing the boundaries of said District is now on file and recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of San Juan County, Utah.

APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS FOR DISTRICT

Motion by Commissioner Bayles, seconded by Commissioner Bartell that Margaret Hall, Angeline Duckett, and Robert Anderson be appoint-ed Commissioners for Subdistricts One, Two and Three, respectively. Carried.

Motion by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Bayles, and carried, that the District be divided into Subdistricts One, Two, and Three. Subdistricts shall include that territory North of Highway 160 at the Utah-Colorado line and running West to the schoolhouse, thence due West along the Section line to the West boundary of the District. Subdistrict Two shall be that portion of the territory that lies South of Highway 160 at the Utah-Colorado line to the schoolhouse in Monticello and its Western Bounday shall be Highway 47 from the Elementary Schoolhouse to the Southern Boundary of the District. Subdistrict three shall be that portion of the territory that lies South of the Southern Boundary of Subdistrict One and West of Highway 47.
