all in Township 40 South,Range 21 East, Salt Lake Meridian.

and the said Board having received a bid from the Carter Oil Company of Tulsa Oklahoma in the amount of $888.57 and a yearly rental of $609.66 in case no well is is commenced on said land before one year from date of lease; and a bid from George D. Fehr, Salt Lake City in the amount of $349.83 down payment and a yearly rental of $349.83 in case not well is commenced on said land before one year from the date of lease, a motion was made by Leon W. Adams that the lease be awarded to the Carter Oil Company as per their offer except that the warranty clause should be stricken. Grant L. Bayoes seconded the motion and it aarried unanimous-ly.

Th'e Utah Wool Growers Association had written the Commissioners asking San Juan County to join certain other Utah counties in asking for Federal Relief for live stock. The matter was discussed and it was decided that since San Juan County had received s ufficient rainfall to make adequate feed on the winter range, San Juan County should not ask for relief. The Clerk was instruct= ed towrite the Wool Growers to that effect.

Mary Jane Wilson stated that both she and Katherine Ryan had been paying taxes on the same piece of land for several years and asked if it would be possible for the Commissioners to refund a part (one half) of this over charge. The Commissioners stated that since the funds would have been apportioned each of these years there was not way in which they could refund tt but they agreed that Mrs. Wilson, in view of the fact that she has no income, be allowed a abatement of $10.00 per year on her taxes.
