MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD IN REGULAR SESSION ON MONDAY THE 14th DAY OF JANUARY, 1974

Meeting opened at 10:10 O'clock A. M. with Chairman Holmes presiding.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Motion for approval was made by Commissioner Dunow,

seconded by Commissioner Broderick and carried unanimously.

CABARET LICENSES APPROVED

Commissioner Dunow introduced the motion that a cabaret license be granted to The Silver Dollar Bar and the Twin Rocks Tavern in Bluff, upon payment of the $250. fee and furnishing the required bond. This license is granted on the recommendation of the County Sheriff and may be revoked upon the recommendation of the Sheriff. Commissioner Broderick seconded this motion and it carried unanimously.

SALARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR 1974

The following salary adjustments for Deputy employees was approved:

Arliene Auble, Secretary to County Attorney ...... $350.00 per month from County

Barbara Montella, Assessor recommended 5% raise ....

Jan Redd, temporary help, hired at $2.00 per hour in Assessor's Office.

Sheriff's Office:

Beginning salary as of 1974 is set at $600.00

Roger Strate...........................$600.00 per month

Mike Lacy............................ 625.00 "

Francis Laws ........................... 625.00 "

Vee Palmer, from $560. to..................... 660.00 "

Ralph R. Stanard (Randy) from $635. to.............. 700.00 " "

Darlene Low, (5% recommended by Sheriff Wright- about $30. per mo. increase ) to . . $525. per mo. Ann Porter of T. & P., the Commission approved a yearly salary of $6,000. this is $500.00 per month.

T.V. CONTRACT WITH BRUCE STEVENS

This six year old contract is found out-dated and out- of-line, and the following changes will be incor-porated into a new one. The County will pay a $350. per month fee for services and maintenance, and the County will pay for parts & supplies and for part-time help. If the Educational channel becomes available, an adjustment in the contract will be made. Each item will be handled separately. The County Attorney will draw up the new contract for approval of County and maintenance man. Mr. Stevens will renew the Federal Comminications Commission license.

ATLAS MINERALS DISCUSSES CLAIMS

Harvey Merrell of Atlas Minerals questioned a discrepency in delinquent taxes on certain mining claims.

This has to do with State Assessments.

Mr. Merrell will discuss this matter with the County Attorney who will make recommendations to the County

Commission.

AGREEMENT ON DERMO MINE WASTE PILES

AGREEMENT

Agreement made this 24th day of December, 1973, by and between Kyle Todd of Dove Creek, Colo-rado, hereinafter referred to as Vendor, and SAN JUAN COUNTY, a body corporate and politic of the State of Utah, whose mailing address is c/o County Clerk, Monticello, Utah 84535, hereinafter referred to as Vendee:

WITNESSETH.

1. There is attached hereto and made a part hereof by such reference an Exhibit "A" which shows Dermo Mine waste piles designated A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I, and J.

2. Vendor hereby sells and conveys to Vendee for the crushing of for the sum of $10,000. to be paid forthwith by Vendee to Vendor, those waste piles designated as D,F,G,H, and I. Vendee may remove said waste piles at its own expense and risk and it shall be Vendee's responsibility to obtain permission from any appropriate state or federal agency for the removal and use of said waste piles.

3. For the same consideration above stated and not in addition thereto, Vendor hereby sells and conveys to Vendee for the crushing of those waste piles shown on Exhibit "A" as C and D, and Vendee at its own expense and risk can move said waste piles C and D at any time.

REVIEW OF COUNTY FEDERAL AID SECONDARY PROGRAM

Notice was received that the District Engineer, in the company of members of the State office, will be in Monticello, at the Courthouse, on January 30th at 1 p. m.. to review the County Federal-aid Secondary Road Program. Those involved in road programs, are requested to be in attendance.
